Microsoft Office 2013

The 2013 version of Microsoft Office is out. With the new version also includes new packaging for the FPP (full product package) edition. The new packaging has a minimalist approach compared to 2007 and 2010 where they are placed in a big plastic case. Office 2013 is placed in a smaller carton box.

Office 2013 comes in three license types:

Home & Student - targets home users and students. It includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. Since the license for this is not meant for commercial, educational or government use, please check carefully if this is meant for you.
Home & Business - can be used for home and business. In addition to the above programs, Home & Business includes Outlook.
Professional - described as the best in business class software. It includes the programs found in Home & Business plus Publisher and Access.
Office 365 - a office product that includes every program found in the Professional edition but is meant only for home/student users. It is a subscription based product that you will need to renew every year.


Besides FPP, Office 2013 also comes in OLP for volume licensing. Office 365 and Home & Student are not available under this scheme.
